Materials for additive manufacturing
Hamburg, 02.11.2017
Formnext is one of the most important trade fairs for the 3D printing industry. It provides a very good overview of the major suppliers of 3D printers, materials and services. Like every year we are back again. In our focus are newly developed materials such as polypropylene (PP) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). We have successfully tested these two materials on industrial laser sintering machines and will present their printing results. AdSint® PP flex is a polypropylene which is characterized by excellent plasticity, an elongation at break of more than 50% and a low moisture absorption. The unique feature of AdSint® TPU 80 is the very high elongation at 600%, which makes the product very elastic. The striking smooth surface results from the perfect spherical particle shape and smaller particle sizes. In the filaments section, we will be showing our new product portfolio AdWire® PRO, which we have developed in cooperation with Trinseo®, a global manufacturer of plastic, latex and synthetic rubber. The products are approved for medical applications and the food industry. While many professional FFF filaments are heavily modified to make them printable, the filaments come directly from the Trinseo® grades. This retains the original features and allows customers who already use Trinseo’s injection molding materials to evolve into more 3D printing applications with brands they already know and trust.
